About Me

Hello! My name is Ramya Krishna, and this is my blog for AP Biology. I am a junior at City of Medicine Academy, and I enjoy studying science; especially neurobiology.  After high school, I hope to be the first person from CMA to attend Duke, where I would like to double major in English and Neuroscience, and minor in music.  My career goal is to get a dual degree in Medicine (M.D.) and Law (J.D.), in order to become a medical lawyer. I hope to use my skills in both professions to work with North Carolina’s legislature to pass laws that will advance patient’s rights, removing undue burdens on their time and money. This class will help me gain a comprehensive understanding of the biological and biochemical processes involved in the human body and the environment, and one of my goals is to advance my understanding of neuroscience using the topics we discuss and work on in class.  In my high school chemistry class, I did not get a chance to do many labs during the school year. I had the opportunity to take a Durham Tech course in Chemistry, and I did several labs. I hope that we’ll get many lab experiences this year, and given the timeframe of the course, I’m sure we will.

I am eager to use the lab skills acquired during my Chemistry course, and I look forward to a productive year in AP Biology.
